Safety Around Soccer Goals

Dear Parents and Friends of Cranford Soccer,

Earlier this week in Howell, NJ, a 6-year-old girl was climbing on a soccer goal when suddenly a gust of wind tipped the goal over and it fell on her. According to media reports, she sustained serious injuries and is in the hospital.

In Cranford, we do our best to anchor our goals down using sandbags and steel anchors. But sometimes these items go missing. As such, it’s imperative that we do not allow our kids to climb on the goals or nets.

Safety is our first priority, but we need your help. While climbing nets and goals may at first appear to be an innocent activity, it can clearly be dangerous.

Thank you for helping us make sure our kids stay safe!

All the best,
Jason Quinones
President, Cranford Soccer Club
